The final hike up to Laguna de los Tres begins about 5 miles into the backcountry from El Chalten and it’s a challenging one. Mt. Fitz Roy looks small and still distant in the photo, but that’s only an effect of using an ultra wide angle lens. This photo was taken near the base of the Fitz Roy massif and your head is tilted to see the peak.
