Common Toad, Bebenhausen, Germany

I was up on this hill photographing the village of Bebenhause down below when I looked on thew ground and saw this toad sitting in the open field in the middle of the afternoon. They’re normally nocturnal and hide in the woods. I shot a focus stack to get this big female juxtaposed with the town in the background. I might have saved this toad’s life because moments later a tractor drove up and down the field to spread the freshly cut hay so I let her go in the forest.
