Bighorn Sheep Ram Flehmen Response

With wildlife photography you have to keep your lens trained on the subject because you never know when split second action will turn a mediocre shot into an interesting one. What looks like an agonizing struggle of a Bighorn Ram to ascend above this writhing mass of muscle and horns, is in fact him raising his head up to taste the air using the flehmen response to check if any surrounding ewes have come into estrus.
